Last Post This Year!

Life is going by so fast...I can't believe that 2012 is almost gone! For the most part it's been an okay year.Dad and Dockie moved, that's been the biggest change in our life here in St.George. We were blessed with another grandchild on September 21 Malcolm Rocco. He is such a cutie...he seems to be a really happy little guy...of course we aren't around him a whole lot,but when we have been,he doesn't hardly ever cry. He's always smiling! He's our 19th grandchild. We got to go to Boise when he was born and then we went back in December for his blessing and Corbin's baptism...good times.
Me and Jeff are still working at the Library, we will probably put in for my Social Security on my 62 b-day, at that time we will quit work and live on our S.S. That is if the goverment is still going by then, or if the world don't end on Dec.21,Ha Ha!
We enjoyed Max and Marks visit in July, they made my birthday so much fun.We also had a brief visit from Britt and Kimi in early June, they were good to come and help their dad, even if things didn't work out like we thought they would...it's all good, and we're through with that...yippy!
We see a lot of Dad and Dockie...they come quite often for visits, we love it when they come. They sold the other side of their property,so they've had to come and empty out the 2 sheds they had there, they got 1 done, 1 more to go! They are finding it difficult to decide what to do with all the stuff they left over there!
In October we took Harley to Dockie's grand daughter, she found him a home...he now lives with James and Wendy,Dockie's grandson. I hear he's loving it there with them ...I'm so  glad someone has enough energy to take care of that hyper dog, he's cute but man he never quits, he has so much energy, he wore us out!
Dolly is still as spoiled as ever, we really don't know what we would do without her, she's 8 1/2 years old now, she rules the the whole household. We still have our cats Fluffy and Petal, they are doing good, they look so pretty with their winter coats on!
We didn't get to go camping even once this year! So sad...but we will next summer, we will be done with work so we can get away,I can hardly wait! We want to do something fun for our Anniversary...it will be our 40th one, that's a pretty good milestone,we want to get to do something fun!
We are looking forward to 2013...we hope it will be a good year for every one. that's it for this post..Keep smiling!!

September...Really

Goodness September got here fast. I'm posting just cause it's been forever since the last post. Our life isn't too exciting, we haven't been on any fun camping trips, nobody seems to come here much since Dad and Dockie moved, I guess it's a good thing that me and Jeff have each other, cause we are the only people we see most of the time.
We did get to go out to dinner last Friday night with some great friends from Midvale, Wayne and Jean Perkins. They are always fun to talk to and catch up on all the people we knew in Midvale...although they just moved from there also, they are building a home in West Jordan, things are a changing!
Jeff Putnum, the people who bought Dad and Dockie's house are really changing the way the yard looks. They have decided to put new sprinkling system in, and have taken down all the sheds out back, he took out the pond also. We were asked if we would like the lamp post that Dockie's brother Deloy made that was in the front yard, and we of course said yes. It looks great in our front yard, it was a major pain to get out of the other yard, but, we love it.Also on the inside, they took out the old carpets at the back of the house and put in tile, I haven't seen it yet, i figure I'll wait till Mary is moved in...then maybe she'll invite me over.
We are waiting for a call from our Rochelle that will let us know when we can go to Boise, she is carrying our 19th grandchild...we don't know what gender the baby is yet, they are doing it the old fashioned way, wait and see who comes out. We can hardly wait.
So other than the fact we go to work every Thurs., Fri., and Sat., night, and to church every Sunday, and we do our visiting teaching and home teaching, this is what our life consist's of,we do get to do yard work too! But that's pretty much it, us in a nutshell.
We love the weather is getting a little cooler...and I can hardly wait for decorating for Christmas!! Take care, and Keep Smiling

Summertime is here!!

We try every year to not turn on the A.C. till June 1, well this year it went on April 7, it's been a bit warm...it hasn't hit 100 degrees yet,but it's got close a couple of times!!! Jeff has made our yard look so good this year,he's worked hard on it,he even installed a couple of more sprinklers out front.
We had the Ironman in St.George May 5. It was interesting, they ran part of the marathon in front of our house. We moved our porch swing up close to the road, under our tree and cheered everybody on. We clapped so much that my hands started to swell, so I took off my rings so I could keep clapping. It was really kind of fun. We even moved our sprinkler out to the street so the runners could run through it and cool off,it was so warm...a lot of the runners gave us a thumbs up and others thanked us. It entertained us all day long.
We were able to work for the Thomas's in our ward while they went on a weekend trip, we cleaned the Health Department for them on Thursday and Friday, it gave us a little extra cash. They have arranged for us to be able to fill in for them whenever they go out of town...the next time is in late June. It works out okay with our other part time job at the library, seems how there we work for their son.
On Friday Dad and Dockie are coming to stay with us for a week,we always look forward to their visits. On Tuesday we are all traveling to Richfield area (Joseph, actually) to put flowers on mothers grave, and come back that same day. While they are here in St.George they are going to show us where G&G Eyre's graves are so we can decorate them. Dockie has some medical tests to be done while she's here, I think they are planning to go back to Alamo on Friday afternoon. They had to come this Friday because Saturday they have a funeral to go to.
We will be traveling up north on July 10 so we can be there on the 11 for our little Ivy's heart surgery. We will be staying with Shane and Anngee, we figure while we are there we can see where Kimi will have moved to seems how she's leaving St. George on May 26. I think she is super excited to be near her sisters again...plus they will be on their own again and I know that will make them really happy.
I guess on the 20th of May we are going to try and see an eclipse...we didn't even know it was happening till Chelle texted us, so we'll try and see how it looks.
I had an awesome Mothers day...everyone was so good to me, thank you to my family for being so good to me. It was a lovely day!
That's it for now...Keep Smiling!

Favorites!

So Chelle did a blog about some of her favorite things. It was a fun read,so I decided to copy her.

Movie I love is "Magnificent Obsession " the old one with Rock Hudson and Jane Wyman. and " An Affair to Remember" with Cary Grant and Debra Kerr. I LOVE old movies! I especially like Cary Grant old movies.

I'm a succor for "Dancing with The Stars" and "Castle" I enjoy Monday night viewing on t.v. and the results show on Tuesday nights.

I enjoy Country music, not the beer songs, but I like Carrie Underwood, Shanya Twain , Darius Rucker and Kieth Urban. I also enjoy "Oldies" from the 60's and 70's.

I enjoy decorating and redecorating my house, from moving furniture, to displaying pictures, and displaying my collections, and things that my mother made that I hold very dear to my heart.

Our pets, sometimes they can be a pain, but they bring so much joy into our lives also.Dolly is supreme and she knows it! Harley is an everlasting ball of energy! Fluffy is the most amazing cat ever (besides Cockers)!Petal is tempramental but soooo lovable! We have Serina, but he's not ours, we've had him since Feb of 2011, but he's Kimi's, he's the biggest fattest ,and lovable cat. One day he will Live with Kimi again.

Spring break!

I know some of you are really looking forward to spring break, around here it's next week. We got a call from our boss last night...he asked us if we would like to work 3 extra days next week. So we get to work Monday through Saturday next week. Extra days means extra money. He asked us a few weeks ago if we would be willing to work more days,he has some kids that work in other library's in Washington County,he said if they needed time off he would work where they work ,and we could work for him at the St.George branch...so I guess that's what is happening.
We are in for some sunshine next week with temperature's in the 70's all week,we'll be loving that!Jeff had to go out and take care of all the weeds that are starting to grow, and I think we'll be back to mowing the lawn again soon. I LOVE spring and I can hardly wait for it to be here, besides that the furnace gets to go off, that's great also.
We got a new high councilman over indexing about 2 month's ago...he came over on Tuesday night and Jeff got to train him on how to index. Brother Greer is trying to come up with a stake goal for indexing. We think after April 2 indexing will do great cause the 1940's federal census will be released and every one will be able to index again, doing something they know how to do instead of trying to figure out all the other projects that are a bit more difficult to do. We can hardly wait for something we understand also!
I guess we won't be traveling a lot this summer, the price of gas is getting beyond our reach, we figure we can go see Dad and Dockie,Annie and Gary, they are the closest. We have to save money to travel to Boise when our next grand baby is born sometime in September. So maybe we'll have to camp out at Pine Valley...it's close. I want to go camping...I miss that we don't go as much as we used to.
That's it for now...Keep Smiling!!!

"Back" to normal again

Goodness February went by fast! We were able to start that month off with going to Brit's for a baby blessing.Monty looked sooo pretty, and we enjoyed the luncheon at Suzan's afterword. Anngee and Shane put us up for a couple of nights while we were there. They fed us some awesome pulled pork,so good! When it was time to come home,I felt like my back was going out....it did! Stupid back, I was down for a week. Finally when i got it feeling better...we were able to change the furniture around in our guest bedroom. We got a dresser and nightstand from dad and dockie,so we needed to reconfigure that room so everything would fit. It turned out pretty good!

Then a few days later i decided my house needed a deep cleaning...the house looked great, but it put my back out again. We had decided we wanted to go to Alamo to visit Dad and Dockie, and Annie and Gary. We wanted to see how dad and dockie's kitchen turned out. It looks Awesome, their whole space turned out really nice.We enjoyed visiting all our visit,it's always fun to hang out with Annie. She's so nice...she gave me a sewing machine. I'm going to see if I can figure out how to sew! Anyway the whole visit my back was out,and it stayed that way till this morning,it finally feels like its "back" to normal!! So for the month of Feb. my back was out for 3 weeks. It's the pits when that happens!!!
We are excited to have dad and dockie visiting us this time, they came Tuesday and will be here till after church on Sunday. We went to chuck-a-rama one night, and we played cards Jeff and Dockie won...but it was fun!! We (me and Jeff) have to go to work for tonight and tomorrow night and the next night..but it's for only 2-2 1/2 hours, then we'll be back to harass them. They are going to church with us on Sunday so they can say good bye to the ward, cause they didn't get a chance to before they moved to Alamo! Then after church some friend's in the ward invited us to their house for dinner. Then they are headed back home. We still are having a hard time with the fact that they moved, but we do enjoy the visit's we get to have with them.
So that's it for us this month...Keep smiling!

Hi

We've had a busy month...we've been to Alamo and back several times with dad and Dockie. The basement at Annette's home, looks more like an apartment now. Dad,Jeff, Gary and Aaron have worked hard on getting them a kitchen, and it's coming together really nicely! Their home in St.George is for the most part empty...they have one small amount of stuff left. It seems strange to look over there and not see either one of their vehicles....I miss them soooo much. Me and Jeff helped dad and Dockie clear out the rest of their house, they stayed with us from Sunday till Friday, we were over there every day doing more packing, putting stuff in their shed(it's filled all the way up) many loads to the D.I. and a couple of loads to the dump. They have a lot of stuff between them and stuff from earlier in their lives and collections galore. Now they just have to figure out what to do with all the "stuff" they took to Annette and Gary's home. I think it will take a while.
We get to travel to West Jordan for the blessing of little Monty (Britteny and Raymond's little girl) We will leave after work on Saturday night ,we will take Kimi with us and demon kitty, and off we'll go.We will be coming home on Monday. We will stop off at my siblings homes to drop off some stuff for them.
Tomorrow Dad and Dockie are coming to St.George and we are all going out to dinner for Dockie and Jeff's birthday, we are looking forward to it.They will pick up the last of their stuff and maybe a kitchen sink for their kitchen in Alamo.
It has rained the last couple of days and we had some good gusts of wind with it. Kimi got snow where she lives, but we didn't get any snow on our side of St.George. That's it for me this time except to say We are going to be blessed with another grandchild, our Chelle and Scott are expecting a new baby on Sept 6. Sort of an unexpected blessing but we are really happy, they just had a baby last May. Number 19 is on the way!!!!

Bring on 2012

Lets see, I'm hoping 2012 is better than 2011...I don't want to say "it can't get any worse" because it always does get worse. September and October last year were the worst month's of my life, except for maybe November of 1997 when mother died. We wanted to just crawl in a hole and stay there. But, we got through it, we had help from awesome children, and a couple of very special friends,as well as Heavenly Father, who we needed big time. All I can say is I NEVER want to go through any thing like this again for as long as I live!!!

The BEST part of our year was enjoying the arrival of 2 new beautiful granddaughters. Being able to hold them soon after their birth meant the world to us! We don't get to see them near enough, but we are blessed with 18 of the most wonderful grandchildren ever.
Thanksgiving was fun,Maxine and Mark and family came down, and we so much enjoyed having them come and visit for a few days. Mark is so good to help us out with installing our new t.v. and fixing our computer problems. We wished they could come more often! Harley really loved having them here, they played with him nonstop while they were here, he was sad when they left. We love just getting to hang out with them and sit and talk and get caught up with what's going on in their lives.
As most of you know dad and Dockie are moving, we have gone to Alamo with them a couple of times to help them get things ready for the big move. It makes me so sad, another thing that has caused me to cry and feel picked on...an d it isn't even me that's being picked on. I guess I just need to get use to the idea that they are leaving and live with it! It doesn't mean I have to like it though. Annette and Gary are awesome to let them move in their basement, I guess we'll be traveling to Alamo a lot more now. It's about the same distance as going from here to Elsinore,so when I need a family fix i guess those are the 2 closest family members I can get to,Nadine's or Annette's.
We get to start a new job this week...we are cleaning the St.George Library on Thurs,Fri, and Sat. nights. It will help us to have some extra cash to be able to do a little bit of something I guess. So the New year is starting...we were happy to get to start it off with dad and Dockie, they came over and we had dinner and played cards it was fun,dad and Jeff beat me and Dockie big time ,but it was still fun!
So here's to wishing everyone a super great year!!!!
